	<title>Singleness</title>
	<description>
Lesson 20: Singleness

	 Key verse: 1
Corinthians 7:7-8

Singleness is a gift from God and should be wisely used for
the glory of God.

Both marriage and singleness are good gifts from God. Those in either situation should trust God's
wisdom in assigning His gifts as they pursue content, purity and thankfulness. Paul recognizes the special gift of
singleness as a period not to be wasted in irresponsibility or
selfishness. Singles are to devote their
time to pursuit godliness, good work, character development and ministry.

PARENTS CORNER:

		 Am I
     becoming more responsible?
	Am I
     investing myself in Kingdom labors?
	How
might some "waste" the gift of singleness that God has given to them?
	Can
wanting to get married be an idol? How?
Can wanting to stay single be an idol? How?
What should one's motive be in deciding which to pursue?

	<description>
Lesson 19: Honoring and Respecting the Other Gender

Key verse: Romans 12:10

Men and Women are to honor and respect the opposite gender.

The Bible commends a kind of brotheIr-sister relationship among young people in the church. Paul advises young men and women to stand guard over each other's purity as they treat each other with honor, loyalty and affection.</description>

This week at Full Tilt we'll be looking at A role model of Feminity: Ruth

The passage to be studied this week is Ruth 1:16

Ruth portrayed a Biblical role model of Feminity as she embraces the role of a helper, showing loyalty, devotion, compassion, service, commitment and submission. Ruth waits for God's providence to unfold in her life and she displayed humbleness.

(Discussion questions for your teens)

1. Guys: How do you evaluate a woman- what do you see as attractive in women? Do you evaluate women as Boaz evaluated Ruth? It is tempting sometimes for young men to place things like popularity, money, beauty, and more superficial things? Why is this foolish?

2. Girls: It is tempting to think sometimes that popularity, money, beauty and other more superficial things are more important than character, work ethic, loyalty, submission and humility. Are you ever caught in this trap? How can you fight this lie?

	<title>what Masculinity is not</title>
	<description>

This week at Full Tilt we'll be looking at What Masculinity Is Not.

The passage studied this week is Titus 2:7-8

Mature masculinity involves neither people-pleasing nor abrasively domineering but involves the pursuit of godly character. Paul portrays manliness in Titus 2, one of dignity, self-control, seriousness, maturity and honor. Manliness is not about being arrogant, self absorbed, crude or rude. God wants man to cultivate strength by embracing mature masculinity of leading, providing and protecting.

Parent's Corner

(Discussion questions for your teens)

1. Why is self-control so important for young men?

2. GUYS: Are you tempted to boss others around?

3. GIRLS: are you tempted to let guys push you around? In what situations are you most susceptible?

4. In what way is there strength in being slow to anger? How does good sense make one slow to anger? (proverbs 19:11)

This week at Full Tilt we'll be looking at A Role Model of masculinity: Paul.

The passage studied this week is: Philippians 3:17

If you know the stories in the Bible, you'll know that there are many figures we could hold up as role models for us-as heroes of the faith. Many of these heroes are models of masculinity as well, and if we want to see masculinity represented to us, we should take to heart the heroic examples of certain men in the Word of God. Most of the men highlighted in the Old Testament were men of authority who bore great responsibility-prophets, priests, kings, judges, military leaders, or leaders of some other kind. Paul is seen as a masculine man, he is a leader, provider and protector.

Parent's Corner

(Discussion questions for your teens)

1. While zeal, self-discipline and courage are marks of manliness, are only men to possess these qualities? Explain.

2. Give some real life illustrations of what men of zeal, self-discipline and courage look like?

3. Read 1 Corinthians 7:29-35, where Paul gives specific words to unmarried men and women, like himself?

4. Philippians 3:17, what does this tell you about the kind of people with whom you should" hang around"? Who are some people that you can point to as good role models of masculinity in your life?

	<title>Embracing Masculinity and feminity</title>

				Friday February 10th
This week at Full Tilt we'll be looking at humanities continuing rebellion against God's good design for men and women; we'll be looking at how to embrace masculinity and feminity according to God's Word.

Since Masculinity and femininity are hard-wired into how we are created, even non-Christians can live as masculine and feminine to a certain degree. However, we've see in our studies so far that through the gospel of Jesus Christ we turn off the path of destruction that our sin and rebellion leads to and onto the path of restoration. By embracing the teaching and instruction of God's Word and putting into practice what He has revealed, we begin to recover His good and perfect design and live as the men and women He intended us to be.

This week January 20th at Full Tilt

This week we'll be looking at humanities continuing rebellion against God's good design for men and women: Homosexuality.

Since the fall of humanity male and female roles have become distorted in several ways. One of those distortions occurs when men's and women's gender identities are such that men or women desire romantic or sexual interaction with the same gender, known as homosexuality. The Scripture teaches that homosexuality is a serious distortion of God's good design. The Central passage in view is Romans 1:28.

The goals of this lesson are to teach the students that homosexuality is immoral, that homosexual desires like all other sinful desires (i.e. greed, lust, hate, etc) are to be resisted, and to offer hope to those struggling with same-sex desires.

Parents Corner:

What makes a young person in this situation vulnerable to falling into sexual sin?

Where in your lives do you receive pro-gay messages?

The Mosaic Law also forbade cross-dressing? Deuteronomy 22:5? What does this mean? Why is it important for each gender to dress appropriately?

How does a person "speak the truth in love"-what attitudes should the speaker have? (love, humility, patience, hope)

Friday January 13th at Full Tilt

This week we'll be looking at the continuing rebellion against God's design: Female Rejection of submission. The central passage will be from Genesis 3:16B "Your desire shall be your husband, and he shall rule over you." The curse of God has left women prone to resisting the appropriate male authority. What are the affects of female rejection of submission? Women were cursed with frustration and pain in the sphere of her closeness.

The goal of this lesson is to reveal the widespread existence of feminist thought and to show how it is hurtful, destructive, and against God's good design.

Examine your heart attitudes toward your thoughts on Female submission.
